In memory

The Dave Project

A grief journal for children, created in memory of Dave Birch — a friend, a community figure, and someone who mattered.

In memory of Dave Birch

Dave Birch was a friend of Katy, Fireworks' founder, and a well-loved figure in his local community. He passed away in May 2022.

The Dave Project grew out of a very human impulse: wanting to do something positive out of an incredibly sad situation, and letting Dave's legacy live on in the area he called home.

It's a reminder that grief support for children doesn't have to be complicated — sometimes a quiet, structured space to remember someone, to write things down, and to feel understood, is what's needed most.

Dave Birch

"We want to do something positive out of an incredibly sad situation and let his legacy live on in his local area."

— Katy Holtham, Founder
